Helping Tour and Activity Operators Grow
PaxFlow’s story should be an inspiration to many tour and activity operators looking to start their digital transformation journey. It all goes back to 2016 when Icelandic tour operator, BusTravel Iceland, started developing their own technology to tackle some of the common challenges faced by tour operators.
Our mission is to help tour and activity operators grow by providing the right tools to optimise operational efficiency. With PaxFlow, tour and activity operators can efficiently streamline and optimise their operations by coordinating resources and inventory using automations and integrating best of breed solutions.
History of PaxFlow
PaxFlow started in 2016 inside an Icelandic tour operator, BusTravel Iceland. PaxFlow did not have a name.
In 2017, the first person was hired specifically as a team member for this project. With this robust technical foundation the system needed a new name:
CBS – Core & Booking System.
In 2018 other tour operators wanted to use CBS & was the birth of our product.
In 2019 the decision was made to spin CBS out of BusTravel Iceland into it’s own startup,
BusTravel IT team joined the Startup Tourism accelerator in Reykjavík and after completing that and learning a lot about how to bootstrap a startup, we went to the TINC accelerator run by Innovation Norway in Palo Alto, CA. While still being in Silicon Valley, BusTravel IT started negotiations with potential investors and finally joined the Origo Travel solutions team in August 2019.
In 2020 BusTravel IT was renamed PaxFlow and has been in development by Origo since then.
